Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahab Ezzat, President of Ain Shams University, received this morning a high-level delegation from Fudan University, China, under the chairmanship of the former President of the University and Prof. Dr. Fathi Al-Sharkawi, Vice President for Education and Students Affairs, Prof. Dr. Abdel Nasser Sengab, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Nazmi Abdul Hamid, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Asraa Abdel-Sayed, Professor of Chinese Language at Al-Alsun Faculty.
The former president of the University of Fudan, China, presented the entire Institute of Heritage and Manuscripts of the Chinese University, the first institute working in the field of preservation of manuscripts at the university and stressed that the Chinese government with the development of thought to preserve its heritage so as not to waste
He explained that he has a problem in the field of conservation, namely the type of paper and inks and asked the university in that area to provide them with their expertise since Egypt has its fame since the era of the Pharaohs in the preservation of manuscripts.
Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahab Ezzat also reviewed the history of Ain Shams University from four thousand and seven hundred years ago. He added that the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering in the Pharaonic era was the one who built the Great Pyramid in addition to the work of the Coptic calendar. He welcomed the cooperation between the two universities in the field of preservation of heritage and manuscripts during the Institute of Studies and Research Papyrus
In the end he exchanged souvenirs and went to the Central Library to read the manuscripts and the book describing Egypt.
